Ernie Collins

Education:

Ernie attended the United States Coast Guard Academy majoring in Marine Engineering and Union College majoring in Electrical and Civil Engineering.  He has attended post-graduate courses in: Tunneling and Blasting at the University of Maryland; and Labor Relations at Loyola University of Chicago.  Ernie has also completed: Senior and Executive Management training programs at the American Management Association; Leadership and Management program at Centre d'Excellence in Belgium; Developing Business and Leadership program by Ashridge University in the UK; and a multi-year Global Business Management program conducted in US, Canada, London, Sweden, Finland and Indonesia.

Ernie is a Certified General Contractor and is also a qualifying agent for contractor's licenses in FL, HI, NV, CA, VA, LA, AL, MS

 

Technical, Social and Fraternal:

 

Ernie has been an active member in:

-  TAPPI [Technical Association of the Pulp & Paper Industry], since 1983, serving as national committee chairperson and local section member.

-  BPOE, since 1978 serving as general member.

-  EYC [Edmonds Yacht Club], since 2002, now a Past Commodore.

Ernie is also a Certified Lay Speaker, a private pilot, and a boater/sailor.
